Grand Canyon

This is the Grand Canyon. We will be studying it in our Landforms science unit. How was it formed? How deep is it? What are the other landforms that we need to be able to identify for our unit?

  1. I think you have a nice start, but how do you think you might get students to engage and collaborate with Google Maps? I imagine showing the map to students and then moving on to something else. If I might make a suggestion, you could do a math lesson where students measure the length of the Grand Canton [sic] in a lesson about using map tools, such as the scale ruler at the bottom of the map.
